I have had the privilege to serve in ministry for more than 30 years and I’m so glad that God has opened the door for me to serve here at Beaver Street during this season of ministry. My journey began at FBC Broken Arrow (at it’s original location) when as a young boy I gave my life to Christ despite being a little afraid to “walk the aisle”. I am glad I had the chance to grow up in Broken Arrow and be a part of that community and school. After graduation I went on to Oklahoma State University where my call to ministry was confirmed and my ministry journey began. After graduating with a degree in Business, I moved to Texas to complete a Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was here that I met Mike and Marla for the first time and our friendship began.
During my years in ministry I have served in almost every possible capacity of church life (except WMU director?). From cleaning toilets and changing diapers to leading youth and adults, I have seen church life from many perspectives. I have served churches in Munday (Texas), Muldrow, Muskogee, Norman, and Broken Arrow.
I did not meet my wife Trina until I was serving my first church out of seminary. It was a blind date but we didn’t keep our eyes closed for long. We have five children. Sarah teaches elementary music in Glenpool, Caleb attends OSU, Adam attends TCC (heading to OSU), Aaron is training to be a paramedic/fireman, and Benjamin is a sophomore at BAHS. Trina teaches Special Education (severe/profound) at BAHS and I work as a Family Services Specialist for Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
We are excited to see what God has in store for Beaver Street. If you like singing the best of the old and the best of the new, then Beaver Street is the place for you to come to worship and serve!
